DUCK AND WAFFLE LOCAL | Opens May | Haymarket

Duck & Waffle Local rocks a more casual vibe than that of its Big Sister – the hugely popular 24-hour Duck & Waffle. This new site is at ground level (the original is at the top of Heron Tower) and the concept is a new fast casual, chef-curated restaurant (overseen by Duck & Waffle Chef Director Dan Doherty) – with the mighty duck at its core. THE IVY CITY GARDEN | Opens June | Square Mile

The Ivy Collection is set to open a new restaurant in London’s Square Mile, the Ivy City Garden, on 7 June. The site will feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows and bi-folding doors opening into the garden. The 30-cover private dining room overlooks the garden and neighbouring Church of St. Botolph and is located in the historic Bishopsgate Gardens – one of the few city garden squares. With a restaurant, bar, private dining room and a garden, the Ivy City Garden will offer tranquil al fresco dining all year round.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DICKIE’S BAR BY RICHARD CORRIGAN | Opens June | Mayfair

Dickie’s Bar – a collaboration between Richard Corrigan, Richard Ryan of Drinksology and Gregory Buda from the Dead Rabbit in New York, is set to open inside Corrigan’s Mayfair this June. Dickie’s Bar is sure to be a late night destination and will serve potent drinks made from the best of the season’s harvest, largely sourced from Corrigan’s garden and farm Virginia Park Lodge, in Cavan, Ireland. Showcasing an extensive list of Irish whiskies, the cocktails will be a collection of drinks inspired by the wilds in the 100 acre farm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NOBU SHOREDITCH | Opens June | Shoreditch

Nobu have opened hotels across the globe, but this is their first in Europe, right in the heart of Shoreditch. And, of course, that means Shoreditch is getting a Nobu restaurant too. The hotel will offer the Nobu breakfast and brunch in the capital for the first time. The restaurant seats 240 guests, including a sushi counter, lounge and bar area, and an outdoor courtyard. Inspired by his classical training in Tokyo and time abroad in Peru, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa continues to bring the latest trends in Japanese-fusion cuisine to life with an extensive menu of inventive dishes and bold cocktails. JEAN GEORGES | July | Mayfair

French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is opening a relaxed ‘neighbourhood-style’ restaurant at The Connaught this spring. This new eatery comes from the winner of numerous Michelin stars and will offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, with menus that take inspiration from Jean-Georges’ global signature dishes; they also feature his take on classic British dishes, from fish and chips to traditional afternoon tea, influenced by his earlier working life and love of London.
