Smoking, like dining out, has always been a social act – and just like table manners there’s also cigar etiquette. Besides the cigar you choose to suit the occasion, there are also different drinks that compliment your smoke. Maurizio Zatti – cigar concierge for Cigars at No. Ten, No. Ten Manchester Street’s cigar shop and tasting room suggests his perfect pairings.

2.MONTECRISTO NO. 2 GRAND RESERVA ‘cosecha 2006’ & RON ZACAPA CENTENARIO XO

In 2011 Montecristo released its first Gran Reserva. Based on the vitrola of the Monte No. 2, the Grand Reserva sets itself apart with leaves that are aged at least 5 years before being rolled into a Gran Reserva cigar. Black coffee notes are followed by a sweet nuttiness together with leather and robust, earthy flavours. Ron Zapaca Centenario XO is a soft and smooth run, luxurious in the mouth and rich in sweet notes which compliment this exceptional cigar perfectly.

6. HOYO DE MONTERRAY GRAND EPICURE L.E. 2013 & TATTINGER BRUT RESERVE

A pleasure not to be missed for lovers of Hoyo de Monterray. 9. COHIBA PIRAMIDES EXTRA & HIBIKI SINGLE MALT

This figurado cigar is the latest addition to the Linea Classica of Cohiba. The subtle earthiness of espresso and Leather and the richness of exotic woody notes are counterbalanced by notes of caramel, raisin and hints of citrus for a rich and satisfying smoke.

10. H. UPPMAN ROBUSTO L.E. 2012 & HIBIKI SUNTORY 17 yo

A good robusto for an easy and enjoyable 40-minute smoke. Light to medium in flavour, this cigar carries the creamy and velvety characteristics of H.Uppmans cigar with notes of sweet oak and pepper to match the long oak and cocoa finish of the delightful Japanese whisky.
