Deloitte’s Football Money League has revealed Real Madrid as the world’s wealthiest football club for the 9th year in a row. The 2012- 2013 season wealth table combines a teams match, broadcasting and commercial profits to reveal the highest earning clubs. Barcelona came a close second, with Bayern Munich taking the third spot and Manchester United in fourth place.
This year’s findings show total combined revenue for the top 20 Money League clubs up 8% to €5.4bn.
Over a third of the top 20 clubs are now controlled by non-Europeans. In order for clubs to gain a place in the top 30, they had to generate in excess of €100m.
