Mozart Week, Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg, 23 Jan – 2 Feb 2014
By

Commemorating and coinciding with the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on 27 January, the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg presents Mozartmoche (Mozart Week) from 23 Jan to 2 Feb.

Mozart Week

Mozart’s prodigal talent was evident from an early age. He began composing at just five years old and over the next thirty years completed 600 works recognised as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic and choral music.

Celebrating the classical composer’s prolific body of work, Mozart Week invites international audiences for a diverse series of orchestral, chamber and soloist concerts and operas from world renowned Mozart interpreters and ensembles.

Mozart Week, held since 1956, is considered as the artistic highlight of the European concert calendar. The 2014 edition will feature the Vienna Philharmonic, widely regarded as one of the finest orchestras in the world, with a series of performances conducted by Paavo Järvi, Marc Minkowski and Daniel Barenboim.
