The most beautiful afternoon tea in the world?

Steeped in tradition and finesse, this age-old rite finds new roots here amidst the serene surroundings that Nelson Mandela chose for editing his best-selling autobiography, A Long Walk to Freedom and where many discerning travellers, including royalty, statesmen, Nobel prize-winners and best-selling authors have returned time and again to experience Saxon hospitality.

Located in the tranquil, tree-lined suburb of Sandhurst, within minutes of Johannesburg’s world-class shopping and business hub, The Saxon prides itself on being voted the World’s Leading Boutique Hotel since 2001. An all-luxury, 53-suite hotel with six pools, spa, gym, hair studio, a private library, wine cellar and piano lounge, The Saxon is internationally renowned for their accommodation and dining offerings.

The Saxon was named “Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel”, “South Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel” and “Africa’s Leading Hotel Suite” for the Nelson Mandela Platinum Suite at the prestigious World Travel Awards Africa this October. The hotel’s private game reserve Shamabala was also recognised as “Africa’s Leading Private Game Reserve” and “South Africa’s Leading Private Game Reserve”.

The Saxon High Tea is served from 11am to 4pm from Tuesday through to Saturday. For more information, visit the Saxon website or contact your Insignia personal assistant.
