Barbados welcomes Michel Roux Junior

Michel Roux Junior will be in residence at Cobblers Cove in Barbados between 9 and 18 January 2014.

Michel, who has run Le Gavroche – the first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two and three Michelin stars – since 1991, will be cooking a series of lunches and dinners as well as doing cookery demonstrations and book signings.

Whilst at Cobblers Cove, Chef Michel will visit the local market and his favourite street food stalls, to create menus using local seasonal items such as eddoes, yams, breadfruit, mangos, sweet potatoes, mahi mahi, snapper, kingfish and lobster.

Cobblers Cove is the only member of Relais and Chateaux in Barbados and has recently introduced some gourmet experiences for its guests, which include visits to the markets, local street food stalls, fishing with the hotel’s fisherman Barker and learning to cook your catch the Bajan way.

Michel Roux Junior will cook lunch on 9, 15, 16, 17 January and a gala dinner on Saturday 11 January.  Chef Michel and Cobblers Cove resident Chef Michael will collaborate on two food and wine pairing dinners, lunch on Sunday 12 January and a gala dinner on Saturday 18 January.  All are open to non-guests.
