Art Antiques London is back with a wealth of antiques and events to showcase. Prior to the official launch of the fair, there will be a fundraising champagne reception and dinner on 11 June. It features entertainment and a live auction with proceeds going to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, and serves as a preview to the Art Antiques Fair that is hosted in a purpose built pavilion in Kensington Gardens.
The pavilion is erected opposite the Royal Albert Hall with stunning views of Hyde Park within walking distance of Kensington Palace, the Orangery, the Serpentine and the Princess Diana Memorial.
The fair attracts more than 65 of the world’s serious private and institutional buyers and is famous for its light, airy and relaxed atmosphere. Exhibitors at this year’s event include Roell Fine Art, specialists in furniture, paintings and works from the trading posts of Dutch and English East Indian companies and Milanese jewellery specialists Sabbadi.
The Fair includes a programme of lectures from renowned expert speakers on silver, sculpture, jewellery and ceramics. The 2013 programme will include a lecture on Russian Imperial Porcelain and the inspired works of Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes.
