Wembley Stadium plays host to this year’s final of Europe’s quintessential football competition, the Champions League.
The fact that the match is being played in London already bears significance as this year marks the first in seventeen that an English club failed to make it to the quarter-finals, leading to speculation of a shift in power away from the Barclay’s Premier League.
The semi-final is an intriguing affair with a double header of La Liga versusas Borussia Dortmund faceoff against Real Madrid in the first tie and Bayern Munich contest much fancied Barcelona in the second. It is a draw that throws up some titillating permutations, will we be watching an all-German final or the first ever Champions League El Clasico final?
With at least two from the world’s best crop of footballing talent including Ronaldo, Messi, Lewandowski and Ribery guaranteed to make it through to the last round, the final promises to be an explosive showcase worthy of the fantastic stage within which it is set.
