Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, 20-22 April 2013

The first Formula 1 to have ever been held in the Middle East returns this year as the fourth race of the 64th F1 season, the last to feature the current 2.4 litre V8 engine.

Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso remains the driver with the largest number of wins on the Bahrain International Circuit with a trio of victories in 2005, 2006 and 2010. Following the disappointment of finishing runner-up in last year’s championship, the Spaniard will have this date earmarked as the potential for picking up maximum points.

However, reigning champion, Sebastian Vettel won on the same track last year and the German will be looking to make it successive victories on the road to defending his title.
