Following the success of the Dîner des Grands Chefs in Versailles and New York in recent years, luxury hotel and restaurant consortium Relais & Chateaux has announced that London will host the next edition of the popular gastronomic event.
Held in the heart of the city at Old Billingsgate Market, “The World’s Kitchen by the Thames”, theme is designed to capture the spirit of British produce.
Forty-five of the world’s finest chefs including Claude Bosi and Michael Caines to name but a few, will work in teams of three to prepare 15 unique menus paired with the finest vintage Pommery Champagne for 600 guests. The feast will be prepared in the great hall where attendees can revel in culinary theatre as they witness the skills of the master chefs at work.
Proceeds from the event will go to the humanitarian aid organisation ‘Action Against Hunger’ making this a double celebration of gastronomic delights with philanthropic endeavours.
The UK chef contingent will be led by Raymond Blanc who said “Relais & Chateaux has chosen London to celebrate the extraordinary changes which have taken place in British gastronomy. The quality of produce and dedication to responsible luxury has seen London establish itself as a world gastronomical destination where chefs’ creations mirror its multicultural heart. Having worked in Great Britain for the past 30 years, I have always celebrated this.”
